FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW DO I GO ABOUT SCHEDULING AN INSPECTION?

To schedule an inspection, please:

  1. Access the Inspection Request Form by clicking here, or by clicking "Request An Inspection" anywhere on this site.

  2. After completing and submitting the form you will receive a confirmation email within one business day. The email will include a quote, as well as  a date and time window when we are able to do your inspection.

  3. The morning of your inspection we will call or text you with a more precise time of arrival.

  4. Your inspection report will be ready by the morning of the following business day, if not sooner.

WHICH COUNTIES DO YOU COVER?

Although we are licensed in all of Florida, Nelson Inspections normally covers Pasco, Hernando, Pinellas, and Hillsborough counties. On rare occasions we are able to do an inspection in another county, so if you would like to request an inspection outside of our service area, please email us and we will reply with a quote, as well as with our availability in your area. Please note: there will be a surcharge for any inspections performed outside of our regular service area.

WHAT IF I NEED MY INSPECTION DONE REALLY SOON? CAN YOU DO IT TODAY OR TOMORROW?

We usually schedule inspections 3--5 business days after receiving a request. If you need your inspection completed sooner, click here for information on our Expedited Service.

HOW MUCH DO YOUR INSPECTIONS COST?

HOW LONG DO THESE INSPECTIONS USUALLY TAKE?

CAN YOU DO AN INSPECTION IF I'M NOT HOME?

We will need to gain access to the home for all inspections, although some only require us to enter the garage if that is where the attic access is located. If the person requesting the inspection is not able to be home at the time of the inspection, we ask that you please arrange for someone to meet us there to let us in. You can indicate this and provide their contact information on the "Request An Inspection" form.

CAN I GIVE YOU A GARAGE CODE, LOCKBOX CODE, ETC. TO GAIN ENTRY INTO THE HOME?

Yes. As long as we can access the areas of the home that we need we do not need a person to let us in. If the home is on a coded lockbox, has a garage code, etc. you can enter that information on the Inspection Request Form.

WHICH PAYMENT METHODS DO YOU ACCEPT?

Payment can be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card. If the person paying for the inspection will not be present at the inspection we can take a credit card over the phone, or we can email an invoice that can be paid at your convenience. We also accept PayPal (nelsonrk21@gmail.com). Please note: the inspection report will not be sent until payment has been received.

AFTER MY INSPECTION IS COMPLETED, HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE THE REPORT?

Your report will usually be sent by the morning of the following business day, if not sooner.

DO YOU OFFER FULL HOME INSPECTIONS?

No. The inspections we offer are for insurance purposes only and make no claims of the overall condition of the home. If you need a full home inspection we recommend contacting Jim Vogel of All Florida Home Inspections at 727-992-4247.

ARE YOU TAKING ADDITIONAL PRECAUTIONS TO PROTECT AGAINST THE SPREAD OF COVID-19?

Yes. Besides regularly sanitizing shared equipment, we will wear masks and/or gloves upon request. We generally do not wear masks when working outside, but can do so when entering the home. If you have any specific requests in regard to COVID-19 safety, please indicate them on the Inspection Request Form and we will do our best to accommodate you.
